How often should I have my hair trimmed?

Six to Eight weeks if you want to maintain the style you love. If, on the other hand, you are growing your hair out - once every twelve weeks is a must. Hair is like a rope, it will continually unravel, unless you keep the ends blunt.

Keratin treatment vs. "Japanese" straightener?

A Keratin treatment is a non-permanent method which contains no thio or lye, thus there is no risk of chemical damage to the hair during a keratin treatment. A Japanese straightener is a thermal relaxer using heat and chemicals to permanently straighten the hair by changing the bonds in the hair's cortex. Japanese straighteners only allow the hair to be worn straight, and without the option of additional color or chemical services.

Do I shampoo and condition my hair before a formal "do"?

No, unwashed hair is preferred by stylists to work with, allowing the stylist more flexibility in creating a style and causing the hair to remain in place easier.

What does a Keratin treatment do for my hair?

Keratin smooths down the cuticle layer of the hair strand, which smooths the texture of the individual strands, providing additional strength and luster. It makes otherwise kinky or coarse hair feel silky smooth.

How soon can I wash my hair after I have it colored?

24 to 48 hours. Your color needs time to fully bond with the follicle to become a natural part of the hair as opposed to a foreign substance laying on top of it.
